Japanese model manufacturer Sen-ti-nel, known for its popular alloy action figure series 'RIOBOT', announced today the commercialization of its latest product themed on "Neon Genesis Evangelion": "Universal Humanoid Battle Weapon Musha Evangelion Unit-01". Pre-orders are expected to begin on July 26th.

The product plan for "RIOBOT Universal Humanoid Battle Weapon Musha Evangelion Unit-01", first announced in 2019, is finally officially launching after nearly five years of refinement. This project invited Japanese manga artist Takashi Okazaki, famous for works such as "Afro Samurai" and "Batman Ninja", to handle the mecha design. He has re-imagined the "Universal Humanoid Decisive Battle Weapon EVANGELION Unit-01", piloted by protagonist Shinji Ikari in the original work, into the "Universal Humanoid Battle Weapon Musha Evangelion Unit-01", clad in Japanese armor and wielding a katana.

From the currently released product preview images, it can be seen that the "RIOBOT Universal Humanoid Battle Weapon Musha Evangelion Unit-01" is based on a highly articulated Evangelion Unit-01 body. The Japanese-style elements of "Japanese armor", meticulously sculpted throughout the body and infused by Takashi Okazaki, are prominent. Through detailed color application, it expresses an oxidized, mottled metallic sheen, as well as the embroidered "NERV" family crest on both sides of the hakama pants. Detailed product information will be announced at a later date.
