BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially unveiled a new product under its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand: the "Momo Ayase" action figure, based on the popular manga "Dandadan," which is slated for an anime adaptation. The suggested retail price is 7,150 JPY, with an anticipated release in December 2024!
"Dandadan" is a shonen manga by Japanese artist Ryū Yukinobu, serialized on Shueisha's "Shonen Jump+" since 2021. The story follows Momo Ayase, a protagonist who firmly believes in supernatural phenomena but not aliens, and Ken Takakura, a male protagonist who believes in aliens but not supernatural phenomena. To prove their respective beliefs, they venture to designated spooky locations, only to both make astonishing discoveries, thus embarking on an extraordinary life filled with various occult and supernatural occurrences. The anime adaptation of "Dandadan" was announced last November, with Science SARU handling the animation production and Kensuke Ushio composing the music. It is scheduled to premiere in October 2024!
The series' protagonist, Momo Ayase, awakened her psychokinetic abilities after an attack by a Serpo alien, allowing her to perceive and freely manipulate the aura of people, yokai, and objects. This Momo Ayase action figure stands approximately 14 cm tall and is meticulously crafted in her uniform, featuring a pink sweater as seen in the manga. It boasts intricate sculpting details on her pleated skirt, the bow at her collar, and the wrinkles on her sweater. Her distinctive bangs are faithfully recreated, and her large teal earrings are also accurately reproduced! The accessories include multiple interchangeable hand parts and four different facial expressions, allowing for a range of interesting poses such as serious or burst-out-laughing. The shy expression part also captures her occasionally cute side from the series!
