Following the release of "Shimo," the "S.H.MonsterArts" series, known for its exquisite monster sculpting and outstanding articulation technology, and released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, is once again launching a new product based on the movie "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire"—the "Suko & Mothra" action figure. The suggested retail price is 11,000 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in February 2025!
In "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," Kong discovers a tribe of his own kind in an unexplored region and encounters the young "Suko." The scene where Kong directly uses Suko as a weapon, swinging him around, surely shocked many fans.
Meanwhile, the protagonists also encounter the ancient Iwi tribe in the Hollow Earth, where a prophecy on the cave walls foretold that an Iwi from Skull Island would be key to awakening Mothra. As Skar King prepared to invade the Iwi tribe, Jia, as prophesied, timely awakened the reborn Queen of Monsters.
The Suko action figure released this time precisely recreates Suko's physique from the movie and that perpetually somewhat "unlucky" looking face. The gradient from fur to skin is rendered through paint application, and it includes two interchangeable face parts to display Suko's different emotions.
Mothra, on the other hand, appears to reuse the prototype created from the 3D model used in the movie for the "Mothra & Rodan" released in 2019. The overall warmer color palette seems to have a slightly lower saturation than the previous version. Her slender wings and long legs remain incredibly magnificent, and when posed with her articulated joints in a wings-spread stance, she grandly showcases the captivating charm of the Queen of Monsters!
Both monsters are crafted to scale with previously released "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" figures, allowing for an accurate recreation of their size comparison from the movie when displayed together! This release, of course, also includes accessories related to Kong, featuring an interchangeable open-mouthed head sculpt for Kong!
