The popular assembly model candy toy series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT", released by BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently showcased prototypes under development for its latest works from "Super Robot Wars OG": "Astranagant" and "R-GUN Rivale & Wildschwein." Both products will be sold as PREMIUM BANDAI exclusives, with an anticipated release in Spring 2025.
All three mobile suits announced this time have a direct connection to the original "Super Robot Wars OG" character, Ingram Prisken. He is not only the chief authority in analyzing Extra-Over Technology (EOT) but also served as the leader of the PTX Team, the recruitment officer, and coach for the SRX Team. The highly popular signature unit, "Astranagant," was Ingram's self-developed personal machine in the "α" series. Later, upon its appearance in the "OG" series, he first piloted the enhanced prototype of the Gespenst, the "Wildschwein," before becoming an enemy character and switching to the "R-GUN Rivale," a unit resembling the Astranagant with over 100,000 HP.
The "SMP Astranagant" is produced at the same scale as the previously released "SMP SRX." Once assembled, it stands an impressive 28 cm tall. Its design style has been adjusted to feature a more slender leg silhouette and larger wing dimensions, and it is expected to include various weapons and effect parts.
The "R-GUN Rivale & Wildschwein" set is also produced at the same scale, with the R-GUN Rivale standing 28 cm tall and the Wildschwein at 16 cm tall. The R-GUN Rivale features a sharper, more angular design inspired by its anime appearance and will include the "Light Hand" weapon seen in its design drafts. The Wildschwein, on the other hand, blends the silhouettes of the Gespenst and Huckebein, embodying the concept of an "intermediate unit between the Gespenst and Huckebein," and is also expected to include various weapons and effect parts.
