World-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys today (20th) announced its latest product from "Batman Returns" – the "Batman" 1/6th scale collectible figure! Both the regular version and the deluxe version will be released simultaneously, and this article will focus on the details of the deluxe version.
This 1/6th scale Keaton-era Batman, redesigned with modern production techniques based on the "Batman Returns" setting, stands approximately 30 cm tall and features 30 points of articulation. In addition to meticulously recreating the textures of the Batsuit, the utility belt, and the leather-textured cape, the masked head sculpt, which faithfully captures Michael Keaton's likeness from that era, can be paired with three interchangeable lower face parts. Coupled with the movable eyes, a wide range of expressions can be recreated! Of course, Michael Keaton's classic pouty lips are also faithfully reproduced.
In addition to including the weapon accessories and fully spread cape from the regular version, the biggest highlight of this deluxe version is the unmasked head sculpt, which intricately captures Michael Keaton's on-screen demeanor and hairstyle. Not only does it realistically reproduce skin texture and rosy complexion with exquisite painting techniques, but the facial texture is also exceptionally rendered. The mask portion is also crafted according to the movie's setting, depicting the natural damaged state after Bruce directly tears off the Batman cowl. Combined with the movable eye technology also featured on this head sculpt, it fully embodies the handsome Keaton Batman of 1992! Furthermore, the deluxe version will include an additional diorama base with interchangeable parts, featuring a cat-head shaped decoration that hints at "it's time for Catwoman to wreak havoc" in the movie, which is absolutely adorable.
