Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced that the latest product from its popular and diverse assembly model brand 'PLAMAX', "Ichi [Early]", based on illustrations by artist neco from 'Heavily Armed High School Girls', is scheduled for release in January 2025.
'Heavily Armed High School Girls (重兵装型女子高生)' is an illustration series by artist neco, which began in 2014. neco combines high school girls with near-future style armaments, deeply merging the contrasting elements of school uniforms and machinery. Through unique brushwork and color tones, the series showcases the aesthetic beauty of machinery. The high school girls depicted not only possess cute appearances but also exude a cool and stylish demeanor.
The newly released "PLAMAX Ichi [Early]" depicts Ichi in her younger days. Unlike the original design where she wears a black sailor uniform, neco has specifically designed a white sailor uniform for the PLAMAX model to differentiate it from the grown-up original version. In addition to the three sizes of katana included with the original, two wakizashi-sized short swords have also been added.
Most of the body parts are reused from the previously released original Ichi, with modified color schemes. New hair, shoe, and weapon parts are newly designed to recreate neco's updated look. Three facial expressions are included: "normal face", "smiling face", and "masked face". The eyeballs, scarf & collar, hand, and leg parts are all pre-painted, allowing for a high level of completion even with a straight build.
The entire body features flexible articulation, and even the eyeball parts are separate, allowing for individual rotation to change the gaze. The three large katanas and two short swords can all be drawn from their sheaths. Articulated supports connected to the back and arms allow for changes in the angle of the sheaths, enabling dynamic and cool slashing poses!
