Following his roles in the "Thor" franchise, "The Suicide Squad," and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw," Hollywood star Idris Elba is set to team up with acclaimed film producer Charles Roven (pictured below), known for his work on "Oppenheimer" and "The Dark Knight Trilogy." Elba will star in their new action-thriller, "Hammer Down."

The film will be directed and written by Simon Hatt, a former assistant to James Gunn. Hatt previously served as a co-producer on "The Suicide Squad" and an executive producer on Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise.
Joining Charles Roven as a producer on "Hammer Down" is Madison Weireter, who previously worked on "Justice League."
In "Hammer Down," Idris Elba will portray Mac, a long-haul truck driver tasked with transporting mysterious cargo without asking any questions. When Mac brings his daughter along on a run, they unexpectedly become targets of a criminal group and face an attack. Mac must then team up with his daughter to fight off the assailants, protect the cargo from falling into the wrong hands, and ultimately survive to see another day.
