Bandai's New Project 'SPACE COLONY side7 1st ver.' – The Colony at the Genesis of the Gundam Story, Now a Tangible Reality!

BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS announced a brand new product project themed around "Mobile Suit Gundam", titled 'SPACE COLONY', at this year's TAMASHII NATION 2024 annual exhibition, showcasing a prototype of the in-development product 'side7 1st ver.'.

The renowned space colony 'SIDE7: Noah', famous in Universal Century works, is the starting point for stories such as "Mobile Suit Gundam" and "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", and the residence of protagonists Amuro Ray and Kamille Bidan. During the One Year War, its proximity to the Earth Federation Forces' space fortress 'Luna II' made it a testing ground for V Project mobile suits like the Gundam. This led to Char's reconnaissance unit infiltrating the colony, resulting in battles between Gundam and Zaku inside the colony and severe casualties among local residents.

'SPACE COLONY side7 1st ver.' is crafted based on its appearance in the original Gundam, miniaturizing the tens-of-kilometers-long space colony to a desktop size. It meticulously details complex features such as the colony's outer wall and solar panels. Through a transparent outer cover and internal parts printed with an aerial view, one can glimpse the scenery of the colony's town. Furthermore, the prototype displayed at the venue also features rotating and lighting mechanisms, simulating the colony's operational state.
