BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan, which releases the Gunpla "RG (Real Grade)" series incorporating exterior armor, internal frames, interlocking armor, and new technologies into 1/144 scale models, has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the "Akatsuki Gundam Shiranui Pack & HG Zeus Silhouette Connection Parts", scheduled for release in December 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam is the flagship MS of the Orb military, constructed by the Orb national enterprise "Morgenroete Inc.". Designed based on data from the "GAT-X105 Strike Gundam", its silhouette is very similar, and it also adopts a backpack swapping system akin to the "Striker Pack", allowing it to switch between the "Oowashi Equipment" for atmospheric use and the "Shiranui Equipment" for space. In the theatrical film "SEED FREEDOM", this unit was re-activated on the battlefield equipped with the new enhanced armament "Zeus Silhouette", successfully preventing the orbital all-directional strategic cannon "Requiem" from firing on Orb's capital with its mirror armor "Yata-no-Kagami".
The "RG 1/144 Akatsuki Gundam Shiranui Pack & HG Zeus Silhouette Connection Parts" can be used with the separately sold "RG 1/144 Akatsuki Gundam" main unit. It utilizes new parts to create the Akatsuki Gundam's space-use backpack, the "Shiranui", featuring the same sharp contours and precise detailing as the RG main unit, and similarly processed with electroplating to achieve a dazzling golden coating. In addition to recreating the "Guided Mobile Beam Turret System" with seven DRAGOONs launching, using the included display stand, each DRAGOON also features an original model armor deployment mechanism.
Furthermore, the accessories also include a set of connection parts, allowing it to be combined with the Zeus Silhouette parts from the separately sold "HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ & Zeus Silhouette", to recreate the Akatsuki Gundam's combined form with the Zeus Silhouette as seen in the theatrical film!
