Released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the original plastic model series "30MINUTES MISSIONS", known for its easy assembly and free customization features, announced its latest collaborative product with "Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon," the "BALAM INDUSTRIES BD-011 MELANDER," slated for release in June 2025.
"Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon" is the latest installment in the "Armored Core" series, developed by FromSoftware after a decade-long hiatus. The game's story is set on the remote planet "Rubicon 3," where humanity discovered a mysterious new substance called "Coral." Initially believed to be a new energy source capable of vastly advancing technology, it instead brought about a catastrophic disaster that engulfed the entire star system. Nearly a century later, the terrifying "Coral" has become a target of contention for extraterrestrial corporations and resistance groups. Players will once again assume the role of "Raven," a mercenary piloting a mech, to infiltrate Rubicon and delve deeper into the heart of this conflict.
The featured AC for this product, the MELANDER, is built using Balam Industries' standard MELANDER frame and components, characterized by its simple, mass-producible design, balanced performance, and projectile-based weaponry. The kit is a modification based on the "Nachtreiher," which shares the same upper body and arm specifications. It utilizes new parts to faithfully recreate the "HD-011" head and "LG-011" leg components. The entire unit is molded in two different colors, dark gray and light gray, and features highly detailed sculpting, resulting in a remarkably cool appearance.
Each part is manufactured with the series' common structural design, allowing for free customization just like in the game. The armament includes a projectile machine gun, the "MG-014 LUDLOW," which can be configured for left or right-hand use by swapping parts. While this kit does not include shoulder-mounted weapons, it comes with 3mm compatible joints that can be used with separately sold 30MM "Armored Core VI" kits for customization.
