Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has announced that the event-exclusive product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash", "HG 1/144 Messer F01 Type [Clear Color]", will be available for purchase starting February 08, 2025.
The Me02R Messer is a heavily armored mobile suit redesigned and developed by Anaheim Electronics based on the "AMS-119 Geara Doga". It inherits characteristic Zeon-style features such as a mono-eye sensor and spiked armor. It is typically equipped with a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield, offering high versatility. In "Hathaway's Flash", it plays an active role as the main mobile suit of the anti-government organization "Mafty Navue Erin", appearing in the standard F01 type and the F02 type, which features additional leg components to extend hover-walking time.
The "HG 1/144 Messer F01 Type [Clear Color]" is a modification of the standard version released in 2020. Its original sandstone-like brown exterior armor has been replaced with transparent material, featuring clear brown, clear sand yellow, and clear yellow molding colors to create a crystal-like luster. This makes it more convenient for special customization techniques such as lighting and glow-in-the-dark paints, offering a distinct style compared to regular Gunpla.
Other specifications remain the same as the standard version. The kit faithfully reproduces the heavy silhouette of the mobile suit with its thick armor parts. The torso and limbs feature multi-axis articulation, providing excellent poseability. The backpack's thrusters and exterior armor can be deployed and swung, and the skirt armor can also be slightly pulled outwards to reduce interference with leg movement. Armaments include a beam rifle, two beam sabers, and a shield.
