Last April, during the "Mobile Suit Gundam Series 45th Anniversary" livestream, Bandai unveiled plans for the 30th anniversary of Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Among the exciting announcements was "Tenchi Tenkaku," an original spin-off novel penned by Yasuhiro Imagawa, the anime's original director, which began serialization on the official website in July.
Following the first two installments, "Tenchi Tenkaku" and "Eiyuu Hensei," the official site dropped the first chapter of the final arc today (January 24): "Three Heroes' New Legend ~Pearl of the Orient~." And get this – the protagonist of this grand finale is none other than Master Asia's son, Master Junior!
Set 12 years after the "Devil Gundam Incident" from the main *Mobile Fighter G Gundam* anime, "Three Heroes' New Legend ~Pearl of the Orient~" finds the world still grappling with the pollution caused by residual DG Cells. As a result, the legendary Gundam Fight tournament on Earth has been put on hold.
Master Junior, the heir of Master Asia, crosses paths with a Kansai-dialect-speaking girl named Eichi, who carries a massive abacus, in Shinjuku Castle. Their journey kicks off as they search for the "Pearl of the Orient," a legendary treasure said to contain the secret techniques of the School of the Undefeated of the East. Following in the footsteps of Domon Kasshu, they venture into the unknown.
▼ Master Junior
Possessing an astonishing memory, Master Junior trained under Sai Saici in his youth, a setup arranged by Domon. He now travels far and wide, using a photograph to inquire about Domon's whereabouts, all while seeking the "Pearl of the Orient," the treasure holding the School of the Undefeated of the East's secret techniques.
▼ Eichi
A girl who speaks with a Kansai accent and carries a giant abacus. She once led a group of DG Hunters but later rescued Master Junior during an attack, becoming his travel companion.
Who would've thought the third part, "Three Heroes' New Legend ~Pearl of the Orient~," would center around Master Asia's son? That's a plot twist many fans probably didn't see coming! If you're curious about the novel's story, head over to the official website to check out the serialization and see if it's your cup of tea!
