From the 'MODEROID' model kit series by MECHA SMILE, a brand under Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY, comes the latest product from "God Mazinger," the "MODEROID God Mazinger." It has a suggested retail price of 5,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in October 2025!
"God Mazinger," created by Japanese manga master Go Nagai, had its anime adaptation aired in 1984. The story is set in the late 20th century, where protagonist Yamato Hino is one day summoned by a giant "Mazinger" phantom to the Mu Empire, which sank into the sea ten thousand years ago. As the residents of Mu worship the guardian deity, the Great Ancient Mazinger, they regard Yamato as the savior chosen by the Mazinger. At this moment, evil forces attack, and Yamato unintentionally awakens the slumbering God Mazinger, joining forces with its power to repel the invading Dinosaur Empire. Thus, the story unfolds!
The "MODEROID God Mazinger" model kit, once assembled, stands approximately 16 cm tall. Through its various molded colors and pre-painted parts, it faithfully recreates God Mazinger's grayish-blue armor and cool, ancient samurai-armor-like design, allowing for an appearance close to that seen in the series! It includes interchangeable hand parts, interchangeable face parts to recreate its angry expression, and a weapon sword with its scabbard. The sword comes with parts for both drawn and sheathed states. The sheathed state part can be attached to the waist. Each joint is designed to be articulated, and through sliding and pull-out structures in each section, it simultaneously achieves its distinctive styling and a wide range of articulation, allowing for the recreation of action scenes from the anime!
