The annual "Detective Conan" theatrical films have been a staple for fans for years, and the 28th installment is already generating buzz! This year's movie, tentatively titled "Detective Conan: The Afterimage of the One-Eyed Man" (名探偵コナン 隻眼の残像), puts Kogoro Mouri in the spotlight with Nagano Prefecture as its dramatic backdrop. It's got annual moviegoers hyped!
Today (February 26), the official main visual and trailer dropped, confirming an April 18, 2025 release date.

The main visual features Conan and Kogoro Mouri staring intently forward against a stunning backdrop of a magical hour sky and Nagano's snowy mountains. In the upper left, Nagano Prefectural Police's Kansuke Yamato, Takaaki Morofushi, and Yui Uehara gaze thoughtfully into the distance. The upper right showcases the sharp eyes of Rei Furuya (Toru Amuro), Yuya Kazami, and Hyoue Kuroda.

Following up on the teaser released two months ago, this new trailer kicks off the mystery with Kogoro Mouri opening his eyes. The story unfolds with flashbacks to Kogoro's time at the police academy, as he receives a call from his former colleague, "Wani" (Crocodile), inquiring about an avalanche in Nagano. Soon after, a gunshot shatters the silence, taking the narrative back to Kansuke Yamato's pivotal past, where he lost an eye.
The trailer is packed with quick cuts: flashes of Kansuke's memories, a rare serious Kogoro, a mysteriously smiling Rei Furuya (now voiced by Takeshi Kusao), and the shocking spectacle of a massive avalanche. There's even a poignant moment where Kogoro sheds a tear. Plus, the voice of "Wani," played by Hiroaki Hirata, makes its debut in this trailer.
