Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Drops Epic 10-Minute Trailer, The Old Guard Star's Character Channels Solid Snake Vibes!

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news on Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the highly anticipated sequel to Hideo Kojima's mind-bending hit, Death Stranding. While it skipped the recent State of Play, the game just dropped a massive 10-minute trailer at SXSW, revealing a ton of new details and officially announcing its exclusive PlayStation 5 launch on June 26, 2025!

The extensive trailer dives deep into gameplay and story elements, but one character immediately stole the show: "Neil," portrayed by Italian actor Luca Marinelli, known for his role in The Old Guard.

Fans were quick to notice Marinelli's striking resemblance to Solid Snake from Kojima's iconic Metal Gear Solid series. This isn't a coincidence either; Kojima himself mentioned in 2020 that when Marinelli donned a bandana, he looked "just like Solid Snake." Now, his in-game character design perfectly echoes that sentiment, much to the delight of the fandom.

The trailer also unveiled a mysterious, colossal mechanical creature dubbed "Magellan Man." Fused with black tar and machinery, its design evokes strong comparisons to Metal Gear Solid's Metal Gear Rex, hinting at the possibility of more mech-based combat in the sequel. Get ready for some potential giant robot showdowns!

The game will be available in three editions:

Standard Edition (Physical Disc & Digital) | Approximately US$61.50 (based on Taiwan pricing)

Digital Deluxe Edition | Approximately US$70.70 (based on Taiwan pricing), featuring additional in-game content and cosmetic items.

Collector's Edition | Approximately US$209 (based on Taiwan pricing), which includes a 15-inch "Magellan Man" statue and other exclusive collectibles.

Pre-orders kick off on March 17, 2025, with players who purchase premium editions getting a two-day head start on the game.

The Strands of Harmony World Tour

In other exciting news, Hideo Kojima also announced "The Strands of Harmony World Tour," a global concert series that will bring the game's iconic soundtrack to life. Orchestras and vocalists will perform across 19 cities worldwide, with the inaugural show set for November 8, 2025, at the Sydney Opera House – marking the six-year anniversary of Death Stranding's original release.
