Intricate Mechanical Detail Unleashed! Fan Transforms MG Gouf Gunpla into a Super Cool 'Half-Cutaway Internal Structure' Masterpiece

If you're into Gunpla, you've probably dabbled in all sorts of techniques – painting, cutting, weathering – anything to make your kits stand out. But what about fusing other elements for some truly fresh creativity?

Well, over on X (formerly Twitter), Japanese Gunpla builder Neko Usagi (@neko_usagi) just dropped jaws with their incredible "Half-Cutaway Internal Structure" MS-07B Gouf. This isn't just any kitbash; it's a full-on transformation of a retail Gundam model, showcasing every intricate internal mechanical detail. The entire process, from concept to completion, has been a massive hit!

Starting with Bandai's "MG 1/100 MS-07B Gouf Ver.2.0" Gunpla, Neko Usagi meticulously modified it to expose parts of the internal mechanical structure, creating a stunning "half-cutaway transparent armor" effect.

Since the Gouf's left arm is famously equipped with a powerful machine gun, the focus of this build was squarely on the left side of the mobile suit. This meant special treatment for the shoulder and leg armor, making those internal workings crystal clear.

First up, Neko Usagi pinpointed which sections of the MG inner frame would be exposed, mapping out the areas needing custom mechanical detailing.

Neko Usagi then got creative, repurposing various spare parts to assemble the intricate mechanical structures and piping, boosting that internal tech-realism. They even hit the inner frame with metallic paint, using special techniques to give it a genuine metallic sheen – making it look like it could actually spring to life!

To really make those mechanical details pop, Neko Usagi went all out with color separation on the joints, mechanical parts, and wiring, giving the model an incredible sense of depth and layering.

After a meticulous spray-painting process, the wiring's appearance was further accentuated, elevating the overall texture and feel.

With the exterior details perfected, the "Half-Cutaway Internal Structure" MS-07B Gouf was finally complete! While off-the-shelf MG Gunpla already boast decent internal structures, this custom build takes the mechanical feel to a whole new level, packed with even richer details. And since most of the internal workings are dark, Neko Usagi smartly opted for a vibrant blue on the outer armor, creating a striking contrast that really makes it stand out.

Beyond this epic Gouf, Neko Usagi has tackled plenty of other "internal structure visible" Gunpla creations. If you're a fan of these intricate mechanical models, you absolutely need to check out more of their work on X!
