Oishi Masayoshi, originally the vocalist for the band Sound Schedule, made his foray into anime and game music in 2014 under the name "Oishi Masayoshi" (オーイシマサヨシ). He quickly rose to fame in the ACG world, lending his voice to numerous popular anime theme songs.
Recently, however, his collaboration with Snow Man member Sakuma Daisuke has put them both in the spotlight. Despite a 13-year age gap, the two are incredibly close. Sakuma Daisuke's recent X (formerly Twitter) post, featuring Oishi Masayoshi eating a "banana peel-on," drew massive fan attention to their interactions, with many fans exclaiming, "They're practically flaunting their love!"

It all started on March 15th when Sakuma Daisuke posted that Oishi Masayoshi was right next to him, "eating a banana with the peel still on!" Sakuma added that he'd never seen anyone eat a banana like that before, attaching a photo of the banana. Fans were naturally stunned by Oishi's peculiar habit.

Sakuma's post unexpectedly sent "Oishi-san" trending on X, prompting Oishi Masayoshi himself to jokingly complain, "Sakuma, can you *please* stop making 'Oishi eating a banana peel-on' trend? LOL!"

Naturally, many fans became curious if bananas *could* actually be eaten with the peel, with some even trying it out for themselves...

The very next day, Oishi Masayoshi posted again, clarifying that the banana he ate peel-on was actually a special 800-yen banana, specifically designed to be eaten with its skin! He then heard that many fans, thinking "my faves eat it this way," were trying to chomp down on regular banana peels... "Please, whatever you do, don't try that!" he urged.

Sakuma Daisuke chimed in with a reply, admitting he'd made the whole situation even more mysterious (>_I also ate the peel-on banana with Oishi!" Oishi responded, "It was delicious, right? And seriously, please stop calling me 'Banana Peel Bro, バナナの皮ニキ'!"
Sakuma playfully retorted, "When we bought it, we both looked at each other, super hesitant, 'Can we *really* eat this?' Then Oishi just laughed and said, 'I'll try it!' and took a huge bite! Total main character vibes! 'Banana Peel Bro' really does suit you best!"
Looks like Oishi Masayoshi won't be shaking off "Banana Peel Bro" anytime soon, LOL!

Of course, netizens couldn't help but tease that their back-and-forth was pure flirting, joking that they shouldn't become such an age-gap "ship" just because of a collaboration. (So sweet!)

So, are there *really* bananas you can eat with the peel? Some netizens did some digging and found that Kisarazu Farm in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, indeed produces a "Kimisarazu Banana." This rare, purely domestic banana, cultivated pesticide-free and with meticulous care, accounts for only 0.01% of Japan's domestic market. It's naturally ripened on the tree, giving the flesh a chewier texture, a more refined sweetness, and higher nutritional value. Plus, its peel is exceptionally thin, so you don't need to peel it – you can enjoy it whole!

It's clear these two share an awesome 13-year age-gap friendship! You can also check out Sakuma Daisuke's new song, "Mamoritai, Sono Egao," released last month. Oishi Masayoshi wrote both the lyrics and music, and even makes an appearance in the music video, LOL!
