The Three-Year Wait is Over! "My Dress-Up Darling" Season 2 Anime Confirmed for July Premiere

Shinichi Fukuda's cosplay-themed manga, "My Dress-Up Darling," skyrocketed in popularity after its anime adaptation premiered in early 2022. With the manga recently concluding its run, fans have been eagerly awaiting news on a second anime season.

Today (March 22) at AnimeJapan 2025, the official announcement dropped: "My Dress-Up Darling" Season 2 is set to premiere in July 2025! To celebrate, a special Memory PV featuring highlights from the first season was also released.

It's been a long haul since "My Dress-Up Darling" Season 1 aired in early 2022. While a sequel was announced way back in September of that year, two years passed with little to no updates, leaving many fans feeling a bit deflated. There was a live-action drama adaptation during that time, but its reception was pretty divisive. Add to that the manga's surprise announcement of its impending conclusion, with the final chapter dropping on March 21, and it's no shock that fans were absolutely buzzing for Season 2 anime news.

According to the official word, CloverWorks is back at the helm for animation production. Director Keisuke Shinohara, scriptwriter Yoriko Tomita, and character designer Kazumasa Ishida are all returning, so fans who loved the quality of the first season can rest easy about Season 2's content.
