Fans familiar with "Mobile Suit Gundam" are likely no strangers to another mecha masterpiece directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino: "Space Runaway Ideon." Known for its brutal and often merciless death scenes, the TV anime was famously cut short. However, thanks to overwhelming demand and support from both the production team and viewers, the story was eventually concluded with two theatrical films.
Recently, Japanese X user 6jiro (@6jiro1) shared his incredible custom build of the ACKS "Space Runaway Ideon 1/450 Scale Model Kit." He incorporated dazzling light effects to perfectly recreate the iconic "Ideon Sword" attack from the series, earning widespread acclaim from netizens.
While 6jiro actually completed this "Space Runaway Ideon" model kit last year, his recent posts showcasing the detailed lighting effects in Ideon's head, giving its eyes a futuristic glow, have truly captivated audiences. Many netizens found the modification incredibly inventive and cool.
But it's not just the head! This "Space Runaway Ideon" model features lights throughout its entire body, capable of displaying various lighting stages. It even comes with a dedicated music stand that plays "Fukkatsu no Ideon" (Resurrection of Ideon), the anime's theme song sung by Isao Taira, undoubtedly triggering a wave of nostalgia for many.

While netizens showered the design with praise, 6jiro humbly admitted his surprise at the sudden attention on X. He mentioned that the video hadn't garnered much viewership on YouTube previously, so seeing it go viral through an X post was a bit overwhelming, but he's incredibly grateful for everyone's appreciation of his work.
