With the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal just a day away, rumors about the new console are hitting a fever pitch. According to a discovery by Famiboards user 'LiC', a new filing with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) suggests the Nintendo Switch 2 might be launching with a brand-new Pro Controller.
The device, labeled "BEE-008", is only described as a "game controller" in the documents. However, its inclusion of Bluetooth and NFC strongly points to it being the Nintendo Switch 2's Pro Controller. Plus, the "E" in the product serial number aligns with the original Switch hardware naming convention, where "E" previously denoted the Pro Controller.
The most exciting detail? This controller might finally pack a headphone jack! This feature is conspicuously absent from the current Switch Pro Controller, and its addition would be a game-changer for convenient voice chat. It also lines up perfectly with a communication-related patent Nintendo filed in November 2024.
Of course, it's not 100% confirmed that this is the Nintendo Switch 2's Pro Controller, but all signs are pointing that way. Either way, Nintendo is set to officially pull back the curtain at the Switch 2 reveal on April 2nd, when all our questions will finally be answered!
