Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the 'S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)' series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to give tokusatsu heroes their original cool appearance and natural articulation, has announced its latest limited-edition product from "Kamen Rider Kuuga", the "Super Ancient Warrior Kuuga". This item is an exclusive bonus for advance ticket holders of the "Chou Kuuga Exhibition", a 25th-anniversary commemorative exhibition starting in June 2025.
Celebrating its 25th broadcast anniversary, "Kamen Rider Kuuga", which aired in 2000, is the first work that ushered in the Heisei Kamen Rider era. The story describes how modern researchers excavating the mysterious Kurogatake ruins in Japan accidentally awakened 200 unidentified lifeforms, the "Grongi Tribe", who were sealed by the Linto warriors in ancient times. These brutal and warlike beings begin a terrifying killing game in the modern era. The adventurer protagonist, Yusuke Godai, assimilates with the Linto warrior's relic, the "Arcle", and gains the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Kuuga, fighting against the Grongi to protect people's smiles.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of "Kamen Rider Kuuga", Toei will sequentially hold the "Chou Kuuga Exhibition" in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Osaka, Japan, starting from June 14, 2025. It is also planned to be exhibited in overseas Asian regions in 2026.
This exhibition-exclusive commemorative item, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Super Ancient Warrior Kuuga", is a modification based on the previously released "Kamen Rider Kuuga Mighty Form". It is crafted to resemble the Linto warrior Kuuga as he appeared in the first episode, "Revival". The entire body features weathering effects with attached sand and mottled textures, and panel lining has been added to various areas such as ancient texts and golden bracelets, emphasizing the rich detailed sculpting. Furthermore, both the dedicated display stand and the sleeve packaging adopt a special "sarcophagus" design, printed with stone textures and ancient text carvings.
