World-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys recently announced its latest product from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, the "Darth Maul (Concept Art)" 1/6th scale collectible figure! It is expected to ship from Q2 to Q3 2025.
This time, Hot Toys' rendition of Darth Maul deviates from his familiar black Sith warrior attire, choosing instead to focus on his identity as a Sith apprentice during his training. He is clad in a khaki-dominated outfit, presenting a refreshing new look. The newly developed head sculpt features ropes wrapped around it and, as is customary for Hot Toys, includes articulated eye technology, allowing for a wide range of expressions. However, this editor personally feels that this iteration of Darth Maul's appearance doesn't quite convey ferocity; at most, it's cool, perhaps even rather gentle (chuckles).
Although the attire has changed, Darth Maul's classic weapon remains! This figure comes with his iconic double-bladed lightsaber (equipped with an LED light-up function) and red lightsaber blades for both normal and swinging poses. With the included base, it makes for a striking display! Hot Toys has also created a Japan exclusive edition for the Star Wars Celebration, scheduled to take place in Chiba, Japan in mid-April 2025, which will include a special collector's box.
