The "2025 World Expo" is set to kick off in Osaka, Japan, on April 13th for a six-month run. Its official mascot, Myaku-Myaku, has been a polarizing figure since its debut in 2022. While opinions are split, many have likened it to an "alien deity" from Japanese folklore, even affectionately dubbing it "Myaku-Myaku-sama."
During recent trial runs for the Expo, eagle-eyed netizens spotted a snack being sold on-site: "Myaku-Myaku-sama Squid Jerky." Its unsettling appearance has grabbed a lot of attention, with many curious to try it.

The original poster, whose tweet went viral, jokingly remarked, "The Kansai Expo is seriously a bit terrifying... They actually sliced up Myaku-Myaku-sama, bagged it, and are selling it! That's wild, LOL."

This Expo-exclusive "Myaku-Myaku-sama Squid Jerky" comes in two colors: red (ginger flavor) and blue (ramune soda flavor). When unfurled, they eerily resemble blood vessels – one arterial, one venous. Some netizens quipped that it feels like Myaku-Myaku is slowly corroding you from the inside out.

Another netizen joked that eating it might lead to Myaku-Myaku possessing your body like a special grade cursed object, causing your SAN points to drop! (What even is this?!)

Yet another commenter playfully remarked that it's the least appetizing squid jerky they've ever seen. "It's supposed to be a quick snack or a bar bite, but this looks like it's bad for your health!" they joked.

Despite the unsettling appearance, many netizens still expressed a strong desire to try it, saying, "It's Myaku-Myaku-sama, we gotta support it LOL!"

While it might look a bit freaky, this snack clearly shows that the Expo mascot, Myaku-Myaku, has already achieved significant popularity and status among the Japanese public. If you're planning a visit to the Expo, you absolutely have to give this a try! XD
