Japanese capsule toy brand Kitan Club (キタンクラブ) will collaborate with Nissin Foods to launch a very interesting product – the "Nissin Cup Noodles Rings" capsule toy. The suggested retail price is 500 JPY per turn, and it is expected to be released in April 2025!
First launched in September 1971, "Cup Noodles" (合味道) is Nissin Foods' cup noodle brand and the world's first cup noodle. Initially, due to its higher price, it wasn't frequently purchased. However, during the Asama-Sanso Incident initiated by the United Red Army in February 1972, Cup Noodles were distributed to the Metropolitan Police Department's riot police at the scene amidst sub-zero temperatures (-15 degrees Celsius) and scarce supplies. Images of officers enjoying the cup noodles were captured by the news, and from then on, its reputation spread like wildfire, becoming a household name in instant noodles!
This "Nissin Cup Noodles Rings" capsule toy features the classic original Cup Noodles packaging, crafted into an exquisite shell approximately 6 cm tall. After opening the lid, which resembles the sealed film, the interior contains mini rings designed in the shape of Cup Noodles' classic ingredients. It includes three types: "Shrimp," "Egg," and "Mystery Meat" (a freeze-dried meat block made from a mixture of minced pork, vegetables, and other ingredients). The rings accurately reproduce the size of these three ingredients after being rehydrated and heated. Inside the cup, there's also a base shaped like dried noodles. Whether worn on a finger or displayed on a desk with the packaging, these rings are sure to be a conversation starter! Toy enthusiasts who love Nissin Cup Noodles shouldn't miss out!
