Japanese brand GOODSMILE COMPANY's "Nendoroid" series, which features over a thousand characters, is once again releasing an action figure of the mascot for Japan's ICOCA service—"Platypus I-Co-chan" (カモノハシのイコちゃん). The suggested retail price is 5,940 JPY, and it will be exclusively sold at the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo Official Store "West Entrance JR West Group Specialty Store"!
ICOCA is pronounced I-CO-CA, and it is an electronic stored-value card from JR West that functions as both a rechargeable train ticket and an e-wallet. Platypus I-Co-chan is the mascot designed for ICOCA by manga artist Himawari Natsuno. Toy enthusiasts who frequently visit Kansai should be quite familiar with it!
To celebrate the Osaka Expo, Platypus I-Co-chan will transform into an adorable Nendoroid! I-Co-chan, already possessing cute proportions, maintains its true essence in Nendoroid form. The sculpting faithfully recreates its round physique and super cute squinting eyes. The paintwork reproduces its vibrant teal color. An interchangeable smiling face part is included, along with a mini ICOCA card that can be held in its hands. That pose with both hands raised is just too cute!
This limited release will also include a base featuring an illustration of I-Co-chan interacting with the Expo mascot, Myaku-Myaku. Toy enthusiasts attending the Expo shouldn't miss out!
