Japan's Sen-Ti-Nel (株式会社千値練) toy company, in collaboration with renowned Japanese illustrator NakaoTeppei (ナカオテッペイ), is once again releasing the highly popular second wave of the "Sushi-L.A. Real Sushi Size FIGURE COLLECTION 2"! There are 5 regular types + 3 secret types, scheduled for release in October 2025.
While a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles was preparing "extra-large sushi with a generous amount of wasabi," the sushi mutated due to the excessively spicy wasabi, giving birth to the "Sushi Monster—Sushi-L.A." (スシエルエー), which possesses eyes, hands, and feet. As they walk, grains of rice fall one by one onto the ground. After 100 steps, their legs disappear, and upon death, they simply become ordinary large sushi.
The sushi toppings covering their heads and backs can be removed, and depending on the topping, Sushi-L.A.'s personality changes in various ways. If regular-sized sushi gets splattered with their weapon, "wasabi liquid," it will be given new life and become a "sushi monster" itself. However, if their movements are too violent, the "wasabi liquid" will start flowing from their head and spread throughout their entire body, ultimately leading to their demise.
*Note: The original name is SUSHI-L.A. (Japanese: スシエルエー; Chinese pronunciation: Sushi L.A.), but because many classic Japanese monster names often end with "ra" (拉), and its appearance strongly resembles "Godzilla," the Chinese translation adopted "Sushi-ra" to convey this meaning.
The second wave of "Sushi Monster Sushi-L.A. Real Sushi Size FIGURE COLLECTION 2" features 1/1 scale (real sushi size) soft vinyl figures, with a total height of approximately 7 cm. Displaying them on a sushi plate makes them perfectly blend in as sushi, concealing Sushi-L.A.'s identity! This collection includes three ingredients: salmon, sweet shrimp, and soft-boiled egg, with variations that have wasabi liquid splattered on them. Including the secret editions, there are a total of 8 types. The distinct grains of vinegared rice have a translucent luster, and the sushi toppings are also made from transparent material. The realistic sculpting and painting make the overall appearance both cute and delicious!
▼The secret edition Wasabi Salmon (Secret Ume) features lightning-shaped wasabi liquid on its face and a closed-eye design, paying homage to David Bowie! Additionally, there are unrevealed SR Secret Matsu and UR Secret Take variations, which are highly anticipated~
Furthermore, this product also features a release commemorative "Secret Ume" campaign. Lucky customers who purchase all three salmon secret editions (Matsu/Take/Ume) will have a chance to enter a lottery to win a 10 cm soft vinyl "Sushi-L.A. Wasabi Salmon BOY" (not for sale) with the same design!
