To commemorate the official launch of the mobile game《SD Gundam G Generation Eternal》, BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced the latest product in its robot-themed action figure series, 『ROBOT SPIRITS』: the 「Phoenix Gundam」, slated for release in September 2025.
First appearing in the game《SD Gundam G Generation-F》, the original mobile suit「GGF-001 Phoenix Gundam」boasts top-tier machine performance, flight capabilities, and self-repairing abilities thanks to its「Nano-Skin Armor」. It is equipped with a rich arsenal including beam sabers, beam rifles, wing-mounted MEGA Beam Cannons, and feather funnels. It can also transform into a bird form, unleashing its ultimate attack,「Burst Fire」, which engulfs its entire body in flames to assault enemies.
In terms of development and design utility, the Phoenix Gundam at the time was an incredibly versatile base unit, capable of being combined with almost any mobile suit to help players complete their unit encyclopedia. However, it could only be produced by entering the「Black History Code」that appeared after completing the game. In subsequent《SD Gundam G Generation》series titles, the Phoenix Gundam's abilities were gradually weakened, even being split into a weakened standard version available in the initial team and an「Ability Release」version that approached its peak capabilities.
The newly released 「ROBOT SPIRITS Phoenix Gundam」 deviates from the common SD (Super Deformed) proportions seen in games, instead adopting the realistic body proportions found in standard Gundam works. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, it meticulously captures the slender, elegant body design and the rich array of weaponry across its entire frame. It also features flexible articulation to recreate classic battle poses from the game.
Through interchangeable parts, the head can display two styles: with or without the antenna covering the eyes. It can also recreate its transformed Bird Form, and the Assault Form when the Bird Form unleashes its ultimate attack,「Burst Fire」.
Its weaponry includes two beam sabers stored in the legs, two beam rifles with a combining mechanism, and four wing-mounted MEGA Beam Cannons that can deploy forward to recreate firing poses. The distinctive 12 feather funnels can also be displayed in their launched state using a separately sold「TAMASHII STAGE」display stand.
Furthermore, by pre-ordering the「ROBOT SPIRITS Phoenix Gundam」, you will receive a serial code for use in the《SD Gundam G Generation Eternal》game, which includes luxurious bonuses such as「SSR Phoenix Gundam (Ability Release)」,「Title: ROBOT SPIRITS」, and「Premium Unit Supply Tickets x3」.
