Japanese rock band King Gnu has absolutely exploded onto the scene in recent years. They shot to stardom in 2019 with their smash hit "Hakujitsu," and have since delivered chart-toppers like "BOY" (the opening theme for Ranking of Kings) and "Ichizu" and "Gyokumu" (the theme and ending songs for Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie). Last April, they even held a concert in Taipei, donating all proceeds to support the Hualien earthquake relief efforts.
This past Saturday (April 20), the band's core member, vocalist, and guitarist, Daiki Tsuneta, hopped on Instagram Live to chat about his recent life and King Gnu's future plans. But what really set the internet ablaze was his revelation about the inspiration behind the music video for their new song, "TWILIGHT!!!" — the theme for Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram. Turns out, the MV's wild concept came from "Exodia Ran-neechan" (エグゾディア蘭姉ちゃん)! This bizarre phrase instantly became a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter), leaving netizens scratching their heads and wondering, "What the heck is that?!"

During the live stream, Tsuneta explained that when he was brainstorming ideas for the "TWILIGHT!!!" MV, keyboardist and vocalist Satoru Iguchi casually suggested, "How about 'Exodia Ran-neechan'?" Tsuneta was, understandably, completely baffled. How could those two things possibly go together? And what even *is* that?! His confusion was shared by countless viewers, all wondering how Iguchi could conjure up such a strange idea.
Once "Exodia Ran-neechan" hit the X trending list, a flurry of equally bizarre images started popping up. Seriously, what exactly was Iguchi envisioning?

Naturally, everyone's still scratching their heads. So, if you're curious, maybe check out the MV yourself and see if you can pick up on that "Exodia Ran-neechan" vibe!
