If you're into Gunpla, you've probably dabbled in all sorts of customization – painting, cutting, weathering, or even full-blown themed builds. It's all about making your kit truly unique, right?
This time, we're checking out a build based on the "HG 1/144 Police Zaku" Gunpla kit, which just dropped this month from this year's latest Gundam anime, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX". Twitter user CORE ( @core_8 ) took it and gave it a killer makeover, channeling vibes from another iconic mecha series, "Patlabor". The results are absolutely stunning, especially with the custom "Gunma Prefectural Police" decals that have everyone buzzing.

Funnily enough, the original "HG 1/144 Police Zaku" design in "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" already comes equipped with a police baton, riot shield, and shoulder-mounted warning lights—all perfectly fitting for a police unit.

CORE cleverly captured "Patlabor's" signature look by painting the main body in a stark black and white. The joints retain their original molded plastic color, while the black sections were painted with "Tire Black" and the white parts were swapped for "No. 9 Gray". The result is a wonderfully worn, retro vibe.
He then used decals designed by "Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd." The cherry blossom police emblem on the chest is a 1/32 scale decal, and the "Gunma Prefectural Police" text is a larger 1/24 scale decal. These decals are actually meant for police car models, but they've been ingeniously repurposed for this Gunpla build.

So, what do you think of this Gunpla transformation? With the right parts and some painting skills, you could totally try this style yourself! If you dig CORE's Gunpla work, make sure to check out his X (formerly Twitter) for more awesome builds!
