As spring turns to summer, are you dreading those sudden afternoon downpours or endless drizzles? Always stuck carrying an umbrella but can never find one that truly speaks to your inner mech pilot?
Well, Japanese toy giant Bandai is here to save the day! Following up on their 'Gundam Shield Umbrella' inspired by "Mobile Suit Gundam", they've just unveiled a special "Beam Shield Umbrella" based on the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM". This epic accessory will set you back 6,930 yen and is currently available for pre-order on Bandai's Japanese Premium Bandai website.
This "Beam Shield Umbrella" perfectly replicates the iconic beam shield deployed from the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II's left arm – a detail fans will recognize from various model kits and figures.

When unfolded, this bad boy measures a massive 92cm × 126cm – big enough to cover you from shoulder to hip! It's not just about looking cool; it's super practical too. The rain protection is no joke, with a sturdy frame and fabric that matches standard folding umbrellas.
Once fully opened, you get the complete "Beam Shield" look. The cleverly designed canopy, with its varying lengths on each side, ensures that rainwater slides off without drenching you.
It even comes with a dedicated storage pouch, featuring the logo of the world peace monitoring organization "COMPASS" on both the handle and the pouch itself.
