The mobile game "Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket" launched last October, quickly becoming a daily must-play for fans worldwide. And let's not forget the OG "Pokémon Trading Card Game" itself, which remains a titan in the card game scene.
Recently, the New South Wales Police Force (NSW Police Force) caught a ton of attention on their official X account with a hilarious post about a Pokémon card robbery.

Turns out, on April 28, local police announced a Pokémon card heist where a suspect swiped a rare card valued at over A$8,000 (that's roughly NT$730,000!). To grab more eyeballs, the police decided to lean into a Pokémon-themed post, making the case super memorable.
The post not only detailed the incident but also quipped: "If you've got a lead, don't just Snorlax around! Contact our Crime Stoppers ASAP!" This witty jab at Snorlax's lazy nature definitely got some chuckles.

The incident went down on March 28, 2025, at 10:45 PM. A 38-year-old man met someone in a Warilla car park for a Pokémon card trade. But things took a nasty turn when the other person suddenly assaulted him, injuring him before snatching one of the high-value cards.
Given the stolen card's collector value exceeding A$8,000, police have launched a special task force called "Strike Force Calmar" to investigate, urging the community to come forward with information. They did, however, remind everyone that tips need to go through official channels, not social media DMs.

Even though it's a serious robbery, the police's choice to use Pokémon memes makes them feel more approachable and encourages shares. After all, with so many Pokémon Trainers out there, it'll be tough for the culprit to escape everyone's notice. Who knows, they might just be a "Poké Ball-branded handcuff" away from being caught! LOL.
