If you're into Gunpla, you've probably dabbled in all sorts of customization techniques – painting, cutting, weathering, or even full-blown themed builds. It's all about making your model truly unique!
Today, we're spotlighting a Gunpla enthusiast named YASU (@nehorihahor) who's taken things to a whole new level. He's perfected a concept he calls "Gunpla Box Art Painting," where he meticulously paints his Gunpla to match the box art, then poses it with the actual box illustration to create an incredible 3D box art effect! This ingenious idea has earned him massive praise online, and the visual results are absolutely stunning.

Take, for instance, the new release from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," the "HG 1/144 Gelgoog (GQ) Sugai's Machine." YASU painstakingly matches the paint job to the Gelgoog's illustration on the box, comparing each part as he goes. You can see his step-by-step process as he brings the box art to life on the model.
YASU shared that whenever he buys Gunpla, he's not just excited about the finished model; he's always been captivated by the box art illustrations, each with its own distinct charm. He'd long wanted to find a way to connect the box art more directly to the Gunpla itself, which led him to this "3D box art" presentation.

He's also applied this brilliant technique to other Gunpla from GQuuuuuuX and a Zaku variant, with equally impressive results.

What do you think of YASU's incredible creativity? This editor finds his approach to making Gunpla box art pop and creating a stronger link between the model and its illustration absolutely fascinating, especially with the added flair of his posing.
