Released by BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan, the ultimate Gunpla masterpiece, incorporating the latest technological advancements, 'PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam' is scheduled for release in January 2026. Following last month's initial reveal of exterior design, articulation mechanisms, and other first-wave details, additional information regarding its inner frame structure, etched parts/metal parts, and LED light unit has now been released!
・Overwhelming Presence
The second 'PG UNLEASHED' product, 'ν Gundam', commemorating Gunpla's 45th anniversary, marks the first time this mobile suit has been released as a 1/60 scale model kit. Including its Fin Funnels, it boasts an impressive height of approximately 557mm, significantly larger than its predecessor RX-78-2 Gundam. It also continues the previous product's core concept, evolving into an even more advanced 'ULTIMATE UNIT SYSTEM'. Through its convincing structure, it meticulously recreates the mobile suit's internal mechanisms, allowing builders to experience the sensation of 'constructing a mobile suit' during assembly.
・Heavy-Duty Inner Frame Structure with Multiple Metallic Colors
'PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam' analyzes animation scenes and setting materials to design inner frame details with optimal density for the 1/60 scale. Inheriting the truss structure design from the previous model, the main frame utilizes a metallic silver molded color, while parts such as joint hydraulic cylinders and various thrusters feature different metallic molded colors, including gold.
Many areas requiring a luminous effect are rendered using multi-layered 'metallic 3D stickers'. Thanks to a certain thickness in their transparent layer, these stickers better convey the three-dimensional feel of the parts. Furthermore, rich mechanical details are expressed with 'etched parts' that showcase the unique metallic luster and precise sculpting. Fine details like pipelines are crafted with multi-colored single-core wire parts, while the main thruster nozzles and head vulcans are directly made from metal parts, achieving a certain thinness and sharp detailing.
In addition to a mini figure of pilot Amuro, the internal seat, and control system, the surrounding frame parts of the cockpit also recreate the material of the psycho-frame. Through secondary processed parts, the phenomenon of the psycho-frame emitting green light is reproduced.
Once the inner frame is complete, the exterior parts can be gradually attached. 'PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam' features a precise part separation design, which not only provides flexible articulation and impressive presentation for movable sections and opening maintenance hatches but also creates an overall 'realistic' aesthetic. The mobile suit's color scheme has been redesigned based on animation settings, with colors such as white, dark blue, yellow, and gray each utilizing 2-3 different shades of molded parts, resulting in a more layered visual expression.
Furthermore, the accessories include 'cover stickers' for the head, allowing for the recreation of the ν Gundam's appearance upon rollout, with its twin-eye cameras and chest sensors sealed.
・Cameras, Sensors, and Psycho-Frame All Light Up!
BANDAI SPIRITS will also simultaneously release the 'PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam LED Light Unit' (Reference Price: 14,000 JPY + tax). This extensive LED light unit can be installed along with the main body's inner frame during assembly. When lit, it will illuminate multiple areas such as the head camera, twin-eye cameras, chest sensor, and cockpit with a green glow!
