Following "Serena with Fennekin," Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA), a Japanese toy company known for its "ARTFX J" series of exquisitely sculpted Japanese anime and game characters, is set to release its latest product from "Pokémon X and Y": the "ARTFX J Calem with Froakie" 1/8 scale figure! The suggested retail price is 15,400 JPY, with an estimated release in January 2026.
In the "Pokémon X and Y" games, the male protagonist players can choose, "Calem," is the counterpart to the female protagonist, Serena. When Calem is chosen as the protagonist, he is a boy who has just moved to Vaniville Town in the Kalos region. He has a serious personality and strives for great strength. Born into a family where both parents are renowned Trainers, he deeply desires to surpass his parents' fame and prove himself through his own abilities. He is both a rival and a friend to Serena.
The "ARTFX J Calem with Froakie" 1/8 scale figure, consistent with previous entries in the series, is based on an illustration by Hitoshi Ariga (ありがひとし), who handles illustration and design for the "Pokémon" series. Sculpted by Haruyuki, the figure captures Calem's confident stride forward, with one hand lightly adjusting his cap and the other in his pocket. Details such as the leather texture of his boots, the wrinkles in his jacket, and the lenses of his sunglasses are meticulously rendered. Accompanying him at his feet is the adorable Froakie!
▼ The Froakie, standing at only about 5 cm tall, vividly recreates a slightly puzzled expression and a chin-resting pose, making it both cute and full of character! The bubble design on its back is also noteworthy~
▼ With the debut of "Calem with Froakie," "Serena with Fennekin" is also available for rerelease~
