In a surprise drop today (July 7), the official team unleashed the short version of the music video for "Muteki no Happiness!" (無敵的ハピネス！), the latest track from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! According to the official account, the full MV is slated for release on July 28. Fans were absolutely stunned, hardly believing they'd be seeing new Haruhi Suzumiya music in 2025!

This epic comeback actually stems from a crowdfunding project launched last November: "I Want to See Haruhi Suzumiya Sing and Dance Again! New Song & MV Production Project." The goal? To create a brand-new Haruhi Suzumiya song and MV, utilizing cutting-edge technology to bring the characters to life with both singing and dancing. The project absolutely smashed its goals, raking in over 86 million yen from more than 2,800 backers in just two months—a powerful testament to the series' enduring popularity and charm!
While the new song, "Muteki no Happiness!" (無敵的ハピネス！), was actually revealed a few months ago as a minute-long short version, this is the first time fans are seeing the MV. It features the original anime voice cast: Aya Hirano (Haruhi), Minori Chihara (Yuki), Yuko Goto (Mikuru), Tomokazu Sugita (Kyon), and Daisuke Ono (Itsuki). Aki Hata, who penned many Haruhi Suzumiya songs, handled the lyrics, while Tomokazu Tashiro composed the music.
This long-awaited new MV, arriving after years of anticipation, utilizes stunning 3DCG design, with animation studio Gugenka contributing to deliver impressive character model dynamics.
