Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA) has officially announced a brand-new assembly model product series, "V.I.O.S.", based on the robot action game "Armored Core". The first product in the series will be "SCHNEIDER NACHTREIHER/40E STEEL HAZE" from "Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon", slated for release in December 2025.
The new "V.I.O.S." series is an evolution of Kotobukiya's previous "V.I." series, offering "Armored Core" assembly models with enhanced quality and features. It boasts uncompromisingly precise sculpting, overwhelming detail in every part, and articulation mechanisms that faithfully pursue in-game settings. Furthermore, it features a larger scale compared to the "V.I." series. The AC being released this time is the STEEL HAZE, piloted by "V.IV Rusty", the commander of the Vespers 4th Squad, who initially fought alongside the protagonist.
The "V.I.O.S. SCHNEIDER NACHTREIHER/40E STEEL HAZE" is composed of multi-colored plastic molded parts, allowing for a significant recreation of its in-game appearance even with a straight build. Once completed, it stands at an impressive height of approximately 27 cm, showcasing intricate details on its armor surface at this large scale, and revealing a golden frame structure visible from the rear of the unit. By swapping parts, the deployed state of the back core can be reproduced.
The model also features flexible articulation. The chest incorporates a pull-out joint mechanism, allowing the upper body to bend significantly forward. The plasma missile "Vvc-703PM" on the right shoulder can be reproduced in its firing state by swapping parts, and the laser blade "Vvc-774LS" on the left arm can also be depicted in its standby or deployed states through part replacement. Additionally, it includes the burst handgun "MA-E-211 SAMPU", the burst rifle "MA-J-200 RANSETSU-RF", the booster "ALULA/21E", and various interchangeable hand parts, enabling the recreation of dynamic combat poses.
The "V.I.O.S." series further adopts common standard joint parts, allowing for free interchangeability of the NACHTREIHER series components that make up STEEL HAZE, as well as its various armaments. This enables the recreation of the game's customizable parts system when combined with future "V.I.O.S." series releases.
