Released by Japanese toy company Megahouse, under the "Portrait.Of.Pirates" (P.O.P) brand known for its powerful One Piece-themed figures, a special product is being launched to commemorate the significant milestone of 5 million units shipped worldwide: the "LIMITED EDITION Monkey D. Luffy Gear Second" pre-painted figure. It has a suggested retail price of 22,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in February 2026!
Luffy's first use of Gear Second appeared in anime episode 272, when Luffy confronted Blueno of CP9 on the rooftop of Enies Lobby. Facing his opponent's powerful Six Powers and Door-Door Fruit ability, he first demonstrated Gear Second, which enhances overall speed by accelerating blood flow, and successfully defeated Blueno, who countered with an upgraded Iron Body, using Gum-Gum Jet Bazooka.
This P.O.P Gear Second Luffy stands approximately 18.5 cm tall, crafted based on the classic scene of Luffy's first activation of Gear Second. It captures his iconic pose upon entering Gear Second, with one hand on his knee and the other fist touching the ground. The sculpting faithfully reproduces his lean muscle lines and the wrinkles of his vest and shorts, and the textures of his clothing and straw hat are meticulously recreated!
The coloring is absolutely stunning, using pearlescent paint to exquisitely depict his body turning crimson after accelerated blood flow. The frayed edges of his black denim shorts feature a subtle reddish gradient, while the surrounding smoke effects transition from red to blue, perfectly capturing the powerful appearance of his body emitting a scorching aura!
