Japanese toy brand Kaiyodo's plastic assembly model series "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS" has announced its latest product from "Neon Genesis Evangelion," the "EVA Provisional Unit-05: Duel at Bethany Base," with a reference price of 7,150 JPY, scheduled for release in late November 2025!
The unit EVA Provisional Unit-05 (エヴァンゲリオン仮設5号機), which appeared in "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance," was piloted by Mari Illustrious Makinami and engaged in a fierce battle with the Third Angel, which escaped its seal at the old Arctic Bethany Base! The "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS EVA Provisional Unit-05: Duel at Bethany Base" assembly model kit is based on the "Drawing Reference GK Model" created by OZ's sculptor Akira Tani for animation reference. Details are thoroughly reproduced via 3D scanning; to ensure rich detail and easier assembly, the size has been increased. Furthermore, shapes that could not be fully represented in the original model have been adjusted and modified according to the design drawings, more accurately recreating its appearance in the film!
The model features the Provisional Unit-05's distinctive grey-green color, and high accuracy can be achieved with the included water decals. Additionally, it comes with two head parts and two versions of the Lance of Longinus (pseudo-restoration type), allowing you to enjoy either the final "in-film model" or the "drawing reference model" that retains the initial design, satisfying both versions at once!
