Japanese model manufacturer PLEX has launched a new model brand, "Scene Selection (シーン セレクション)," with its first product, "Grendizer: Roar of Victory." The suggested retail price is 7,480 JPY, available for pre-order on Premium Bandai, with an estimated release in January 2026.
"UFO Robot Grendizer" (UFOロボ グレンダイザー) holds a significant place in the history of Japanese robot anime. It is the third installment in the "Mazinger Series," a joint project by Japanese manga artist Go Nagai and Toei Animation. The story follows Daisuke Umon, who conceals his identity as Prince Duke Fleed (フリード) of Planet Fleed. After his home planet is destroyed by the invading Vegan Empire (ベガ星連合軍), he flees to Earth, hoping to live a quiet life. However, the enemies also attack Earth. Encouraged by Koji Kabuto and the research institute director, Daisuke decides to confront his inner trauma and once again pilots his exclusive machine, "Grendizer," to face the enemy, thus beginning the story.
The PLEX "Scene Selection 01 Grendizer: Roar of Victory" PVC finished model recreates an unforgettable scene from the "UFO Robot Grendizer" anime. At a precise height of approximately 14 cm, it faithfully reproduces the fierce battle between Grendizer and the Saucer Beast (円盤獸) from the first episode! With one hand raised, holding the defeated Saucer Beast's head, and its ruined body forming the base, complemented by flame effect parts, the overall presence is even more striking! Even after an intense battle, Grendizer remains in pristine condition. It comes with its weapon, the "Double Harken," which can be attached or detached to create different atmospheres.
