"Chiikawa" Teams Up with Singer yama and "Pretty Cure" Director Yuta Tanaka for "Magical Chiikawa" MV

Illustrator NAGANO's creation, Chiikawa, has taken the world by storm in a short time. After its anime debut, its unique style captivated audiences, leading to an endless stream of merchandise and solidifying its status as a top fandom icon.

On October 21, a surprise announcement dropped: a special music video for the "Magical Chiikawa" series, titled "Magical Syndrome," would premiere on QTORY's official YouTube channel on October 21 at 8 PM JST.

The official announcement post featured an adorable illustration of the characters decked out in their "Magical Chiikawa" outfits, complete with a YouTube link that sent fans into an immediate frenzy.

This MV will be uploaded by QTORY, the company behind the planning and production of the TV anime "Koupen-chan." The thumbnail features the familiar trio—Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi. QTORY also previously produced the "Chiikawa Baby" promotional video released in September.

But wait, there's more! The video description revealed the epic production team behind this project: Yuta Tanaka, director of multiple "Pretty Cure" series, is helming the MV, while character design is handled by Hiroyuki Saida, known for his work on "My Girlfriend Is Shobitch" & "Revue Starlight."

And for the music? None other than singer-songwriter yama, famous for hits like "Haru wo Tsugeru" and "Shikisai," is on vocals! OHTORA penned the lyrics, with OHTORA and New K handling the composition. Just from the lyrics, you can tell this track is going to be an absolute earworm!

The news sent fans into a frenzy, with comments like, "Wait, yama is collaborating?!" "Chiikawa got a pro magical girl anime director?!" and "Director Tanaka is on board—this is no joke!"

What's more, new "Magical Chiikawa" merchandise is set to drop on October 24. Many fans are speculating that this MV might be tied to the new product launch—a clever move to boost sales, perhaps?
