GOOD SMILE COMPANY, a Japanese figure manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its blind box Nendoroid spin-off series, "Surprise Nendoroid," featuring characters from TYPE-MOON's classic work "Fate/stay night." The "Surprise Nendoroid Fate/stay night" is scheduled for release in May 2026.
"Fate/stay night" is a fantasy visual novel adventure game developed by TYPE-MOON in Japan and released in 2004. The story describes the emergence of the "Holy Grail," capable of granting any wish, in Japan's "Fuyuki City." To claim the Holy Grail, seven teams, each consisting of a Magus and a "Servant," engage in a deadly "Holy Grail War." The protagonist, Shirou Emiya, accidentally encounters a battle between other Magi, and in a moment of crisis, successfully summons the powerful Heroic Spirit "Saber." Shirou, who has admired his adoptive father's ideal of a "hero of justice" since childhood, decides to participate in the Holy Grail War to prevent further innocent casualties.
"Surprise Nendoroid Fate/stay night" includes 6 characters: Saber (Artoria Pendragon), Archer (Nameless), Gilgamesh, Shirou Emiya, Rin Tohsaka, and Sakura Matou, along with up to 15 surprise parts such as the Sword of Promised Victory, Kanshou and Bakuya, Ea, a school bag, and a display stand. Each box randomly contains one character and one surprise part, featuring the same adorable chibi design as regular Nendoroid products, showcasing the characters' charm in a mini size of approximately 7 cm tall.
