The new branch series "MODEROID DX-SCALE", launched by the Japanese brand MECHA SMILE, which features enhanced size, color separation, and detailed sculpting, has announced its latest product from the light novel "Knight's & Magic", the "Ikaruga (Original Novel Version)", slated for release in July 2026.
The Ikaruga is a Silhouette Knight designed by the protagonist, Ernesti Echavalier, who retains memories of his past life as a Japanese person. Compared to other models, its appearance boasts a unique armored samurai design. It is equipped with four flexible and powerful auxiliary arms, the "Hands of the Moon," and several "Gun-Swords" that can be used for both melee and magic attacks. Its most significant features include a medium-sized magic converter, the "Queen's Crown," in its abdomen, and a large converter, the "Heart of the Emperor," on its back. This immense magical power, combined with its full-body magic-storing armor and magic jet thrusters, achieves the strongest performance in the history of Silhouette Knights. Its active presence has earned it the moniker "Oni-God" from other nations.
The "MODEROID DX-SCALE Ikaruga (Original Novel Version)" boasts a significantly larger overall height of 19 cm compared to the standard MODEROID version. Its overall design is a modification of the previously released anime/manga version. The molded color of the parts has been changed from dark blue to cobalt violet, and new parts are used to recreate differing designs such as the head horn ornaments and waist parts. For the front waist skirt armor, collectors can choose between the original plastic parts or new fabric material parts, which significantly reduce articulation interference and offer a cooler appearance.
The four pre-painted "Gun-Swords" feature a transformation mechanism for their shooting mode, and the weapon grips are separate parts from the weapon-holding hands. The four auxiliary arms on the back, the "Hands of the Moon," are fully articulated and can use cable parts to recreate their deployed state. The "Heart of the Emperor," hidden within the back armor, is also precisely sculpted. Furthermore, by combining it with the separately sold "MODEROID DX-SCALE KASASAGI", the enhanced form "Magatsu Ikaruga" can be recreated!
