Released by Japan's Bandai Gashapon toy brand, the artist-collaboration "Art in Gashapon" series, following their collaboration with Japanese frog sculptor Kazutaso Company (かずたそカンパニー) to create the "Frog Fujin and Raijin Statues" and "Frog Kongo Rikishi Statues," has once again unveiled the brand new "Frog Maitreya Bodhisattva Statue and Asura Statue"! Pre-orders are currently open on GASHAPON ONLINE, with shipping expected to begin in late April 2026. The suggested retail price is 500 JPY per capsule, with a total of four styles to collect.
These frog deities, which seamlessly blend realistic frog bodies with traditional divine statues, showcasing intricate sculpting charm and an unconventional solemnity, now feature the "Maitreya Bodhisattva Statue" and "Asura Statue"! These pieces stand approximately 8-9 cm tall. The Frog Maitreya Bodhisattva Statue depicts the pensive pose with the left foot on the ground, the right leg crossed, and the right hand supporting the chin, exuding an aura of calm contemplation; while the Frog Asura Statue meticulously recreates its three-faced, six-armed appearance, naturally conveying solemnity and majesty visually. As is customary, both the Frog Maitreya Bodhisattva Statue and Asura Statue are also available in bronze and wood-like color schemes.
▼ They truly have a strong presence when held in hand! Combined with the intricately carved textural details, they are truly captivating.
