Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division is set to release its latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," the "HG 1/144 White Gundam," on December 06, 2025. Ahead of its release, official channels have unveiled new information, including the product's box art design and actual sample images.
The RX-78-02 White Gundam was originally the latest mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079, and a core component of "Operation V," the mobile suit development project proposed by Tem Ray, father of the original protagonist Amuro. It was equipped with powerful beam weapons capable of turning the tide of battle. However, when this unit was about to undergo its final tests at Side 7 colony, it was successfully stolen by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot, Char Aznable. Along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1 "Pegasus," it fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon, crushing the Earth Federation Forces' hope for a counterattack and leading to the defeat in the One Year War.
The "HG 1/144 White Gundam" is based on the already released Red Gundam, with modifications. The kit utilizes new molding colors for red, white, blue, and yellow parts to reproduce the iconic colors of the protagonist Gundam unit. It faithfully recreates mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita's design style, which blends realistic industrial aesthetics with sci-fi elements. The overall design and articulation are largely similar to the Red Gundam, delicately expressing the unique, human-like silhouette and the complex layering of its armor. The difference lies in the head, which uses new parts to reproduce its initial appearance before the installation of the psycommu device and prior to being modified by Zeon.
Weapon accessories include the Earth Federation Forces standard beam saber, beam rifle, and shield, as well as a newly sculpted Hyper Bazooka. Coupled with its flexible articulated joint design, you can recreate highly dynamic battle scenes from the show, paying homage to the original Gundam.
