From Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd. Candy Division, the popular assembly model candy toy series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" has announced the latest product from the anime "Chodenji Machine Voltes V", the "Chodenji Machine Voltes V LET'S VOLT IN! Set", scheduled for release in May 2026.
The protagonist machine in the series, "Voltes V", is a super robot built to combat the Boazanian Empire's giant battle machines, the "Beast Fighters". It is composed of five Volt Machines: the Volt Cruiser, Volt Bomber, Volt Panzer, Volt Frigate, and Volt Lander. When the five machines align in a V-formation and shout "LET'S VOLT IN!", they combine into robot form, unleashing powerful special moves with weapons such as the "Tenkuken (Heavenly Sword)", "Chodenji Goma (Super Electromagnetic Whip)", and "Chodenji Top (Super Electromagnetic Top)".
The "SMP Chodenji Machine Voltes V LET'S VOLT IN! Set" is a revised version based on the previously released "V-together Set SP Version". The Voltes V main body, weapon accessories, and effect parts included are identical, but the molding colors have been re-adjusted to match the anime's color scheme. Compared to the original alloy toy colors that emphasized metallic texture, this version uses vibrant molding colors to reproduce the retro cel-animation palette.
After assembly, the five machines—the Volt Cruiser, Volt Bomber, Volt Panzer, Volt Frigate, and Volt Lander—can be completed. Each machine can be displayed and played with individually, and they can also combine through their transformation and combination mechanism to recreate the robot form "Voltes V" and the "Heavy Tank" mode, which was an original toy feature at the time. After combining, not only is the cool body proportion faithfully reproduced, but the head, torso, and limbs also feature highly flexible articulated joint designs, allowing for dynamic battle poses with a wealth of weapons and effect parts.
The weapon section also includes the "Mechanical Eagle," the sixth machine that can be mounted on the back, and "Tako-chan" (Little Octopus), the sixth member of the Voltes Team. Additionally, it features a rich array of weapon accessories to recreate Voltes V's various attacks such as the "Voltes Bazooka," "Gatling Missile," "Chodenji Top (Super Electromagnetic Top)," "Heavy Tank Mode," and "Tenkuken (Heavenly Sword)." Furthermore, a 22 cm tall clear pink molded "Large V-shaped Display Stand" is included, which can be used to recreate the "V-formation" of the machines preparing to combine, as well as the powerful appearance after combination is complete.
