BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division "TAMASHII NATIONS" is releasing the latest new version product in its popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line: "S.H.Figuarts Bardock -A Lonesome, Final Battle-". This figure is based on the 1990 TV special "Dragon Ball Z: A Lonesome, Final Battle ~The Father of Z-Fighter Son Goku, Who Challenged Frieza~", with a suggested retail price of 8,250 JPY, and is scheduled for release in August 2026!
The original TV special anime "Dragon Ball Z: A Lonesome, Final Battle ~The Father of Z-Fighter Son Goku, Who Challenged Frieza~" was produced based on the question "Where did Goku come from?", depicting the story of Goku's father, Bardock, at the time of Goku's birth. Bardock was a brave and skilled low-class warrior with the typical Saiyan warlike nature, thus he could not accept that his newborn second son, Kakarot, had a power level of only 2, viewing it as a disgrace. However, during a mission, Bardock unexpectedly gained the ability to foresee the future, predicting Frieza's evil plot to annihilate his race – to change the Saiyans' fate, Bardock single-handedly challenged Frieza's army...
"S.H.Figuarts Bardock -A Lonesome, Final Battle-" recreates Bardock's anime appearance with a new sculpt. The red headband, the cross-shaped scar on his face, and the damage and scars on his battle suit have also been given more realistic paintwork based on the original anime, perfectly reproducing his appearance after intense battles. The articulation structure has also been updated, allowing for dynamic battle poses! In addition to multiple expression parts, hand gestures, and interchangeable hairstyles, it also includes baby Kakarot, making his first appearance in the S.H.Figuarts series!
