Hong Kong toy company STORM COLLECTIBLES, known for releasing numerous action figures of fighting game and manga characters, has announced another new product based on the anime "Karas" — the "Predecessor KARAS" 1/12 scale action figure, following the "Otoha Karas" release. It will have a suggested retail price of US$85 and is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2026!
"Karas" is an original OVA series released by Tatsunoko Production in 2005 and 2007 to commemorate its 40th anniversary. The anime combines elements of fighting, detective stories, ghosts, fantasy, and science fiction. With production costs exceeding 400 million Japanese Yen per episode, it is considered one of the most expensive anime productions in history. The story is set in a fictional Shinjuku teeming with yokai (supernatural beings), where the city's powerful guardian, Karas Hoshunin Eko, intends to control and destroy the Shinjuku he once protected. To stop the ongoing murders, the new successor, Yosuke Otoha, teams up with other yokai to confront him.
For this release, STORM COLLECTIBLES is transforming the Predecessor KARAS, who fought against Eko Karas at the beginning of the first episode, into an action figure. The figure features sculpted details such as the belt on the armor, spikes on the shoulders, red eyes, and asymmetrical shoulder pads. The meticulous paintwork recreates the rough, matte texture of the armor, and its dark green color scheme offers a distinct visual effect compared to Otoha Karas! Accessories include seven interchangeable hands, the Tachi Tsukuyomi weapon, and dedicated interchangeable parts for Tsukuyomi. These can be combined with the figure's flexible articulation to pose dynamic and cool combat stances!
