Japanese high-quality collectible statue brand Prime 1 Studio showcased a prototype of its latest product, "LEGACY ART Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah Non-Scale Statue," from the movie "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" at today's new product announcement event, "NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XVI: REALMS BEYOND TIME." Pre-orders for the product are expected to open soon.
The design of this product is inspired by the poster for the 1991 film "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah," drawn by the late renowned Japanese artist Noriyoshi Ohrai. Through the master's signature oil painting techniques, delicate brushstrokes, and vibrant colors, the artwork depicts the powerful姿態 of the battling monsters. The highly dramatic composition, such as King Ghidorah's three heads tightly coiling around Godzilla, and the light and shadow effects highlighting the monster's main body, leave a profound impression.
The "LEGACY ART Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah Non-Scale Statue" brings this classic poster to life in an impressive size, standing approximately 82 cm tall and 61 cm wide. It faithfully reproduces Master Noriyoshi Ohrai's use of color and brushstroke textures. It depicts King Ghidorah's body tightly coiled around Godzilla, with powerful, dynamic giant wings. Godzilla, in turn, uses his mighty arms to subdue two of King Ghidorah's heads. Also featured are a nuclear submarine surfacing and launching missiles in the foreground of the artwork.
By realizing the poster as a three-dimensional statue, the monsters' skin textures, the visible veins on their wing membranes, and their fierce facial features gain a more organic feel. Built-in LED lighting mechanisms are used to represent the gravity beams emitted from King Ghidorah's three heads and the fiery glow from the missile thrusters. The product also includes two interchangeable Godzilla heads—one based on the movie suit and one on the poster—as well as a three-dimensional logo of the "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" movie title, making the overall composition even more faithful to the movie poster!
