Mecha girls produced by DAMTOYS always possess a certain magic. You promise your significant other that this will be the last one, but before you know it, you see a new pre-order, and you can't help but move your mouse, add the item to your cart, click through, and check out.
Today, I'm sharing the Nucleus Rebuilder series Wolf Squad. Assault Type. Raven from DAMTOYS. This is the fourth soft-body mecha girl from DAMTOYS that I've collected. Unlike previous models, this Raven does not use the same body frame design as the earlier releases. This time, it features a semi-soft-body frame designed for easy dressing and undressing, allowing the upper and lower body to separate. The abdomen uses hardened plastic with technological etched textures.
Raven differs from previous models by incorporating mechanical elements into its design. The left arm, in particular, features a bionic mechanical arm. Additionally, Raven has some biological characteristics; unlike the large wing designs of other mecha girls, Raven has three independently articulated wings on its left arm, giving it a certain layered look. The two arms present an asymmetrical design, with the left arm adopting a bionic mechanical structure, while the body uses a realistic human form, with the chest and thighs made of soft-body material.
The soft-body material utilizes DAMTOYS' proprietary craftsmanship, ensuring it won't yellow, secrete oil, or crack even with prolonged play and display. Among the soft-body mecha girls currently on the market, DAMTOYS can arguably be called the pinnacle. The tactile feel of the soft-body material is truly exceptional, making it comfortable to handle. When displayed in a model cabinet, you can change its pose every few months without seeing creases or loss of elasticity. Next, I'll present this unboxing review, followed by a small complaint at the end.
▼【Unboxing】Nucleus Rebuilder DAMTOYS Wolf Squad Raven 1/9 Soft-Body Mecha Girl
▼The outer packaging maintains DAMTOYS' consistent style, with a highly transparent hard-shell package that clearly reveals the main body from the outside.

▼Do you see the three feathers on the upper right corner of the Raven?

▼Nucleus Rebuilder Series

▼The side of the outer box, similar to previous mecha girls, features a real photo on one side and an illustration on the other. The face shape in the illustration below isn't quite captured in the actual face sculpt; the corners of the mouth are always slightly off.

▼The soft-body material does not hinder Raven's articulation.

▼DAMTOYS' mecha girl outer boxes always have a thick plastic film. After removing that film, there's another layer of film inside the top and bottom openings. All films must be removed for easier opening.

▼Anti-tear sticker ensures it's a first-hand product.

▼If you open it and find the situation shown in the image below, it means the product has been opened.

▼The main body appears. This mecha girl's scale is 1/9, same as previous models.

▼The upper body and thighs are soft-body designs, while the abdomen consists of hardened plastic parts.

▼The right arm is designed as a human arm, and the holes on the arm are compatible with all Nucleus Rebuilder series mecha girl parts, allowing for interchangeable installation.

▼The left arm is a bionic mechanical arm, full of mechanical aesthetics.

▼The arm can be raised horizontally with slight interference.

▼The arm can be pulled out slightly to avoid interference.

▼The overall articulation is also outstanding; the arms can perform human-like movements and bends.

▼Both left and right arms feature three-segment articulated rotation.

▼Maximum arm bend point.

▼DAMTOYS' proprietary special soft-body technology ensures the material is very soft, won't secrete oil during play, and you don't have to worry about yellowing even after long periods of display.

▼Unlike the chest and thighs, the abdomen uses hardened material, and its paint finish closely matches the soft-body color. Additionally, the abdomen features mechanical etched lines.

▼The panties are made of soft plastic. Be careful during play to avoid excessive force that could cause breakage.

▼Both the shorts and the waist belt are made of soft plastic.

▼The shadows at the turning points of both buttocks make the overall hip shape appear more natural.

▼Back view.

▼The black part can be removed, revealing a hole where a stand can be directly installed.

▼The ponytail is a separate part connected by a ball joint.

▼Both legs can be individually detached.

▼The leg joints are very tight, so you don't have to worry about them being loose when posing.

▼Raven's bare feet are also designed with soft-body material.

▼Another pair of bare feet included as a first-run bonus.

▼Customized crossed-leg pose with bare feet.

▼Another set of normal replacement foot types.

▼The toes can move and bend independently.

▼The forehead part can be detached independently, and the face sculpt is a basic expression.

▼In addition to the original face sculpt, three other interchangeable facial expressions are included.

▼Another feature of DAMTOYS' soft-body mecha girls is that the eyeballs are independently rotatable.

▼Rotating the eyeballs can make the facial expression more vivid and lively.

▼Changes in eyeball rotation in another direction.

▼The first time you rotate the eyeballs, they might be a bit tight, but after that, they become easy to rotate.

▼Open-mouth expression.

▼The ability to freely adjust the angle of the eyeballs allows for more unexpected expressions. Previously, such expressions might only be achievable with water decals or interchangeable face sculpts. With independently rotating eyeballs, the expressions become richer and more diverse.

▼The bare feet with tip-toeing pose make the entire leg look more natural when on tiptoes, and the use of ball joints for the ankles ensures the bent foot shape is more natural. The waist can be held by the included stand clip, or the back hole part can be removed and fixed using a peg.

▼The ball joints of the feet are very sturdy and well-made, allowing for confident play. One thing to note here is that the ankle's rotation angle is limited, so avoid over-rotating to prevent breakage.

▼Combined with the rotatable eyeballs, the overall posing allows for more diverse play and expressions. With multiple articulated joints throughout the body, the overall display becomes more vivid and natural.

▼The rear of the left bionic mechanical arm's forearm can use a replacement part called "Ulna Armor Type A" to grip a weapon, transforming it into a hand blade.

▼Four of these small knives are included, named "Onigari" (Demon Hunter).

▼Be careful when attaching the small knives. Since they use a small peg on the hilt to directly insert into the clamp, repeated insertion and removal may wear down the small peg on the clamp, causing it to loosen. It is recommended to be careful during play.

▼Another way to play with Onigari.

▼Combined with different connector parts called "Ulna Armor Type B," it can transform into another type of weapon, similar to Wolverine's claws. The installation method is the same as individual installation, using the peg on the hilt. Be extremely careful to avoid wear and tear on the hilt and plug holes when installing the connector parts.

▼The most perfect way to pose Onigari is probably with three as claws and one held in hand, combined with the tip-toeing bare feet, facial expressions, and multiple articulated joints, the overall display is full of combat power!

▼Raven's upper and lower body can be separated to change into the samurai-style pants.

▼The connection between the upper and lower body uses a very tight metal ball joint.

▼Full armament form appears, a complete display.

▼The three independently articulated wings are one of Raven's selling points and correspond to its name.

▼The wings have two points of articulation.

▼Connected using peg-style ball joint parts.

▼The wings are universally compatible with all Nucleus Rebuilder series soft-body mecha girls' corresponding size holes and can be freely installed on any mecha girl.

▼The armor designs on the left and right thighs differ due to the different arm styles.

▼In full armament form, all four Onigari can be mounted on the left leg. Do you see the holes on the hilt? Those are the connection points mentioned earlier for combining with the connector parts. The connector parts have round holes that must be slotted into the hilt's groove for connection.

▼The samurai-style pants are made of soft fabric. Be extra careful when putting them on and taking them off to avoid tearing them with excessive force.

▼The mechanical connecting arm, which was a bit disappointing. The instruction manual completely failed to mention the connection method for this mechanical arm, especially how it connects with the "Shou-tou Onigiri" (Obstacle Blade Demon Cutter).

▼The overall connection is done by clamping.

▼Simply put, it's lightly mounted on the mechanical arm.

▼Here's the crucial part! The tolerance between the clamping slot of the mechanical arm and the clamping point of the blade is simply too different. I don't know if I got a defective unit, but it simply wouldn't clamp securely and would fall off easily. Moreover, the clamping depth was too shallow! Because the clamping depth was too shallow, the clamping area of the mechanical arm spread open, leading to breakage and a tragedy. When your own toy breaks, you can only fix it yourself. I immediately went into the workshop, grabbed a file to sand and trim it, then used 401 glue to bond it. After drying, I reinforced it with the smallest plastic sheet.

▼Both the top and bottom surfaces need reinforcement, while avoiding the pivot points. Do the plastic sheets look large in the picture? That's actually due to the magnification of the image; the plastic sheets are actually very, very small. Those plastic sheets were carefully fixed with tweezers; if they flew off by accident, with my current eyesight, I wouldn wouldn't be able to find them...

▼Very happy that the repair was successful in the end.

▼The area framed in the image below is the clamping point. The tolerance compared to the mechanical arm's range is truly too large, no wonder it broke when I clamped it.

▼Fortunately, it was saved in the end. Fixing a broken toy yourself is another unique play experience.

▼When not equipped with the Shou-tou Onigiri, the mechanical arm can be folded and stored. This mechanical arm can also be used with corresponding holes on other mecha girl models.

▼The image below is not a single weapon but a combination of two weapons, presenting the weapon in a sheathed state.

▼Weapon name: "Kagi Onigiri" (Hook Demon Gripper), shaped like a short sword.

▼The combined name is not mentioned in the instruction manual. I can only call it "Pseudo-Bizen Osafune."

▼A very large katana. Even with Raven elevated, it's still shorter than the two combined blades.

▼The sheath for Kagi Onigiri. When the main weapon and Shou-tou Onigiri are combined, it transforms into a small hand axe.

▼The image below shows the complete form of Kagi Onigiri.

Summary:
This mecha girl did not disappoint me. My only disappointment was probably the mechanical arm on the back. Everyone, please be careful when combining it to avoid breaking it like I did. Also, the instruction manual remains concise and to the point; I hope it can be more detailed in the future, listing connection methods and play options for parts. The tightness of the joints is impeccable, improving with each release. From Little Red Riding Hood to Vodka and now this Raven, my overall collection experience shows significant joint reinforcement. Even with huge and heavy weapons, there's no worry of them sagging. This is truly my last soft-body mecha girl, I'm serious. Next, I'll share some simple studio photos.
