Japanese high-quality collectible statue brand Prime 1 Studio, at today's new product announcement event 'NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XVI: REALMS BEYOND TIME', unveiled the latest prototype of its newest product from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition", the "DYNAMIC ARTS EVANGELION Unit-01 (Concept by Josh Nizzi)", with pre-orders expected to begin soon.
'DYNAMIC ARTS', launched by Prime 1 Studio, is a movable figure series that leverages high-quality statue production techniques and infuses artisan craftsmanship. The sculpting of each character is not simplified for articulation, achieving intricate sculpting and coloring comparable to statue products. The articulated frame is made with numerous alloy parts, combined with precise interlocking mechanisms of plastic exterior parts, allowing for various bold and dynamic poses.
The first product in the series, "EVANGELION Unit-01", stands approximately 20 cm tall, once again adopting the reinterpreted design by artist Josh Nizzi, who infused his own style, injecting richer mechanical elements into the original refined design. Not only do the various joints feature more realistic mechanical designs, but the overall exterior armor also incorporates high-density armor seams and exposed frame designs, combined with a rich metallic paint application that conveys a sense of weight. The articulation of the various alloy joints is also highly flexible, and through the expansion of the chest armor and the interlocking mechanism from the cervical to lumbar vertebrae, it can even recreate its signature berserk roaring pose.
The accessories include a wealth of weapon parts, also based on the original settings combined with Josh Nizzi's interpreted designs, featuring various metallic textures and weathering effects, including an electromagnetic rifle, high-vibration particle knife, Spear of Cassius, Gatling gun, pistol, and two katanas, allowing for various dynamic battle poses with the main body's articulation.
Furthermore, the "DYNAMIC ARTS EVANGELION Unit-01", similar to regular statue products, will come with a diorama base themed around the battle against the Fourth Angel in Neo-Tokyo-3, showcasing realistic depictions of destroyed power plant ruins, a crashed VTOL transport aircraft, and the incapacitated Fourth Angel. Combined with Unit-01's flexible articulation and abundant weaponry, this allows for creative freedom to change the scene's narrative.
